Thermal Spray Powder Chromium Carbide-Based Powder Series

Cr3C2-NiCr powders for high-temperature wear, oxidation and erosion resistance.

Our chromium carbide-based thermal spray powders are engineered for high-temperature and corrosive service environments, with full compatibility with High-Velocity Oxygen Fuel (HVOF) spraying, plasma surfacing and laser cladding processes.

Led by the core grade Cr3C2-25NiCr, this series delivers exceptional high-temperature wear resistance, oxidation resistance and erosion resistance, maintaining stable long-term operation under coupled high-temperature and corrosive conditions.

It is extensively applied to metallurgical high-temperature rollers, power boiler tubes, aero-engine hot-end components and other high-demand high-temperature scenarios where conventional coatings degrade rapidly.

Application Notes

How to Specify & Apply

1

Identify the Service Envelope

Determine the dominant wear mode (abrasion, erosion, adhesion, corrosion, oxidation), operating temperature and impact load. This narrows the grade selection to 2-3 candidates.

2

Match the Process

Each grade is validated for specific deposition processes. The "Application Process" field above shows HVOF, HVAF, APS, PTA, LMD, OFS or CAW compatibility.

3

Choose the Particle Size

Particle size controls deposit density and surface finish. Fine cuts (15-30um) for thin dense coatings; coarser cuts (45-90um) for thick build-up and high deposition rate.

4

Request a Sample

Most grades ship with a 1-2 kg sample for in-house process qualification. Our engineers will support parameter development on your equipment.
